Looping a video on the web Can't Post

I need to have a movie on my website, where each time the page loads up, the movie DOES NOT start over again, I think its called streaming but im not sure. basically the movie will be about 2 hours long and i need it to loop. so lets say if i upload the video at 12 am, then someone comes to look at it at 1 am, i want the movie to have already been playing for an hour. any ideas on how to accomplish this would be much appreciated. im kinda new to this so dont kill me if i asked the wrong friggin questions lol

What you are asking for...can't be done.

simple...basic web streaming a video is not the same as broadcasting a tv signal. When a computer connects to a web site that has video content, the browser makes a connection to the video file and opens the file from the beginning. Each connection to the video file, the browser will start the video from the beginning. It doesn't matter if someone else is somewhere in the middle or near the end.

Also...your video is not looping on your website all by itself. This isn't like putting a tv/vcr player out in the open of a shopping mall. A video on a website is like you personally popping in the tape everytime you stop and look at the tv. Each person who stops, puts in the tape and starts it from the beginning.

What you are asking for is a live web feed which is way beyond something that you can do on your own. Which is why I said, it can't be done.

Your best bet is to build a flash container and break the clip up into multiple clips. Then just create like a DVD menu with chapters and/or a play all.

I think it can be done. It would have to be a webcast, with the source being the looped video.

Yes...it can be done...but not by someone who just has a personal website. True Webcasting/Live web Feed requires a lot more than just a website and video file, as stated by the original poster. What he wants to do can't be done. If he has the money to throw at the problem...then he can hire a webcasting firm to do this for him...but that wasn't stated in the original post.
