PP audio problem Can't Post

I am working on a photo montage and for some reason when I try to import any music, it acts like the files are not conforming into the program. One song, I get the first few seconds, then silence..... I tried another song & nothing. The first three songs I have in the file are fine. I've tried rebooting, nothing. Any ideas?

Carol,

Are the music files and the project audio settings all the same? e.g., they're all .wav files at 44.1KHz?

Re: [videobear] PP audio problem [In reply to] Can't Post

I haven't changed any settings in my project. I'm using mp3 files. I seem to remember having a similar problem awhile ago, but then I just rebooted & it seemed to work. This time I can't seem to figure it out. The first song is in there fine, but when I put in the second song (and I've tried putting it on several different tracks), it gets to the first few seconds of the song and that's it. The song is showing that it's there, but there is no waves showing the sound, except in the beginning. Very weird. I tried importing another song, same thing. I'm at a loss.....

PP = Premiere Pro?

Using mp3 in Premiere is known to cause problems. It's best to convert all your audio to .wav files. I actually convert and upsample all my audio to 48KHz .wav, just to be safe.

Re: [Spencer Wood] PP audio problem [In reply to] Can't Post

hmmmmmm when I used Premiere 6.5 I always used wav files. When I upgraded to PP1.5 I haven't found a problem using mp3 files. Maybe I stand corrected. I'll have to convert and see if it makes a difference. I find it strange that all of a sudden I'm having a problem but it's worth looking into. Thanks for the heads up.

Spencer,

Thank you so much.

I converted to a wav file and it worked fine. VERY WEIRD!
