1. Unplug your TV, you won't need it. 2. Connect the OUTPUTs of the VCR to your camcorder using the A/V cable 3. Put a fresh tape in the camcorder. 4. Turn on the VCR and insert one of your source tapes. 5. Turn on the camcorder and place it in "VTR" mode. 6. Press REC and PAUSE on the camcorder's VTR controls. 7. Press PLAY on the VCR, and un-PAUSE the camcorder. The picture you are recording should show up on the camcorder's LCD display. If your camcorder has a "pass through" feature, you can skip the step of recording to DV tape, and use a Firewire cable to send the signal from the VCR through the camcorder and onto your computer's hard drive, using your NLE software's capture utility.
