Here's a link to the same light on ebay...at least it appears the same...3xAAA batteries, everything else looks the same. It can be had for $13 including shipping from HongKong.

SmileSmileSmileI actually have used an LED flashlight before. I was doing a band in a bar and the keyboard player was really in the dark so when I zoomed in on him I took the LED flaslight (just like the one in the post) that I always carry in my cam bags and shined it on him and it was just enough to get a reasonable picture of him.
I see that the cheap light in your link says "30 hours" of use on 3 AAA batts and the expensive one says "2 hours" on 3 AAA batts but the pictures or the units are identical. I really wonder if there is a difference. I will get one of the cheaper ones just for yuks and let you know how it is. My house in NH loses power every thunder storm so it will get used a lot anyway.

There have been some that have tested these out against each other.
The more expensive one uses higher grade led diodes, adn as such does give a better throw and color temperature.
However, the throw on these sucks, as it will only throw about 5-6 feet or so.

Now someone did come up with a neat idea to use the cheap UFO light though. For a Jewish service, he placed the UFO light up top inside the huppah, giving some decent lighting from inside the huppah. This made for some better lighting while shooting, a normally dark huppah service.
