S-video output to old SVHS deck... Can't Post

Yes, i am somewhat of a novice. Here's my question: I have an old JVC BR S810U SVHS deck and I'm trying to record a video completed with Premiere 6.5... through a Pinnacle AV/DV card with Firewire, S-video and composite outputs.

The input jacks on the deck are BNC. Can I find an S-video adpater that will plug into the BNC connector? Is there a better way... or no way... to go from computer to this deck??

Thanks.

Well it took some time but I think I found what you need. Obviously this type of adapter isn't popular. Most were RCA female to BNC.

Here is the link and I hope it's what you are looking for.

Good luck!

Also if for some reason that isn't what you are looking for and there is no one who has that type adapter just grit your teeth and use the RCA to BNC adapter.

Are you sure that the input jacks on the deck are for s-video? Usually BNC jacks on pro decks are for either composite (one jack) or component (three jacks).

son of a gun, you're right Doug. I looked again, and sure enough the BNC inputs (there are two) are labelled Video and Audio.

As my card has S-video, firewire and composite outputs, I guess I'm stuck using the composite outputs converted to BNC. Is that correct??

Thanks also, mvmaker.

Yes. You can get an inexpensive adapter at Radio Shack for BNC to RCA.
