SONY VAIO VERSUS ASUS LAPTOP Can't Post

Hi guys,

I am getting a new laptop - mostly to be used in trips and to be visiting clients. I will do my main editing on my PC table computer.

I am pretty ignorant with computers, video graphic cards, etc.

What do you guys reckon a dream laptop (PC / windows / latest adobe video production suite) for video editing would be?

I am talking about specs and brands. Money is not an issue - I can't believe I am saying that).

My IT reckons Asus is better than the Vaio Sony in terms of speed for graphic card.

Here is the Asus he told me he can get (price is Australian dollars):

ASUS W2JC CD2.13/100/2G/17W/DVDRW/XPP
CoreDuo T2600 2.13GHz,100G,2x1Gb DDR2,17.1"WXGA+
Colourshine,ATI X1600/256Mb,DVD-SM+DL,802.11ABG
10/100/1000+BT 2.0+EDR,Digital TV Tuner,XP Pro.
Total $4200.00 inc GST

Some thoughts?

Cheers,

Veri

Saw a review on the ultimate "dream" editing laptop recently...it was a Sony offering, and was powered up to handle HDV. Even had a blu-ray burner in it. I think the price was about $3,500 US.
