Greetings I'm thrilled to be moving to 2 camera productions and remaining digital all the way. Two cameras, one on a crane, 12' up and me with another camera on a tripod directly below the high wideshot. Firewire out of both cams to a firewire digital switcher. Question: Should the cables be the same length? I'm not going to exceed 12' in any case so should they both be 12' or does it matter Bruce

Can't Post
Bonjour Laurent Je utilize le "laird telemedia ltm-dv4x1a" which is going to arrive in a couple of days. I bought it through alalive .com and I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas day. I've been thinking about this glitchless firewire switcher for about a year. I do live event production with no post production at all. The only post production is duplicating the dvds and collecting the money Haven't actually done multiple camera live production it yet so it's still theorectical. I have a couple of HDR-HC1s with the sony bluetooth wireless mic on the AIS shoe on one and on the other I have a sony shotgun. Bluetooth camera for the closeups and shotgun for the wide shots. The switcher has xlr inputs as well which when utilized replace the audio in the DV stream with whatever comes in the mic or line xlr. I plan on operating both cameras myself with the wide camera on a boom which has been ordered from Baton Rouge So Laurent I'm sure you didn't need all that blah blah but like I said I'm excited and all wound up. SaLu et bon chance Bruce Dempsey

Just to know:
1) How do you handle two different soundqualities that comeout by seitching between two cameras
2) Which firewire digital switcher do you use?
