My experience with cold weather is that rechargeable batteries lose most of their power when they get cold. I'm not sure about Lithium Ion batteries, but you can get specification on the performance of most battery types by temperature. Your electronics won't mind the cold, and your tape mechanisms won't think it's cold at 20 degrees Fahrenheit. I was a photographer in Minnesota, and I did a lot of outdoor work in sub-zero temperatures. As I mentioned before, batteries required special attention. One more thing to keep in mind is that a cold body entering a warm environment will collect condensation. Moisture is not a good thing, when it's collecting in your camera. It's especially difficult to shoot with a foggy lens! The best thing to do when bringing your cold equipment inside is to seal it in a relatively air-tight case, before bringing it indoors, and let it warm up before opening the case. It won't be the end of your camera, if you don't, but keeping moisture off of all those small, moving parts is a good idea, whenever possible. --- Douglas Toltzman Hubert, NC
