Remember when Gran Turismo 3 had that special 60fps mode where you could only race one vehicle (too many polygons for all vehicles)? That was displaying true 60 frames/second. So what's the deal with that? That sounds like a video game refresh rate which would be more applicable to playback on a computer than on a TV set. Most traditional TVs by definition display 60 alternating fields per second creating 30 complete frames, and that's it. Modern digital TVs might be capable of displaying higher frame rates like a computer monitor, but standard HDTV formats (ATSC) are mostly either 60i or 30p.
