Video Computer Can't Post

Hello All,

I am looking at building a computer or trying to find one that would work great with Liquid Edition. Can you point out thing I need to look for when buying or building a PC for video.

I know I will probably select a video card that Pinacle says works best with Liquid Edition. I have done searches, but can't seem to find anything made for video editing.

Thanks!
Darryl

try looking at www.guygrapics.com for prebuilt, then use those system specs if you try to build one.

Unless you want to go with Pinnacle's customized ATI Radeon card (Edition Pro), pretty much any late-model video card will do. I use the ATI Radeon 9800 with my system. Video display cards are optimized for gaming, and almost all of them will do an adequate job of handling the 2D display and rendering required for video; you don't need the latest and most powerful model.

Liquid edition has an AGP interface...so you don't have to buy another AGP video card...if you want another monitor, a PCI card would do...

IMO, the card is a 'dead-end' card...had one, but sold it right away...i don't like the GUI and the learning curve is very steep...it's like re-learning everything from zero...well, anyways, much more stable than a matrox rtx100 though...Smile

Pinnacle does not recommend "a card". They list several cards which have proven to work. Whatever you get, be sure it is DirectX 9c compatible. There are many post from people missing this important point.

Anyone know anything about the Intel Nocona processors? I am looking at getting a new server with 2 x Xeon Nocona 2.8GHz (HT) processors and was not sure if anyone has tested them. I am planning on running Vegas 6 on it.

Thanks.
