cheap GL2 battery Can't Post

Anyone have any experiences with the replacement batteries for the Canon GL2/GL1 such as found on ebay? The canon brand sold at retail are a hundred dollars and up. However, I'm seeing a replacement for like the BP-945 rated by canon at 3 1/2 hours for only $35 on ebay and rated for 7 hours.

Or another for $15:

I know they are not Canon "approved" but do they work ok?

I have similar batteries. Canon sells them for over 100$.
If you open the battery, you'll be astonish to discover four rechargable AA batteries.

Greetings,

Laurent

I got some cheap batteries from e-bay and they work, but they don't have the chip inside them that tells the camera how much charge is left. The problem with that of course is that I never know how much time I have left by looking at the battery icon in the evf. But I did get the batterys at a 400% discount over what Canon charges.

I've purchased many of the cheap GL2 batteries. I end up throwing about 3 out after each wedding season. No big deal. It's a whole lot cheaper than to pay $100 each for 10 or more batteries.
