If you have a specific question, you'll want to perform searches for quicker answers. SEARCH

Josh,

That's cool you and your dad are doing this. Could you tell us more about what your role will be in this new partnership? What equipment do you already have or are you starting from scratch? D4rK FOCuS made a great suggestion about using search. I'm thinking that your dad probably does a good bit of wedding photography? If so, you might also go to some of the web sites of videographers here and read what services they offer. Also read the equipment list to see what camera(s) they use.

Have you ever done video editing before? I am only a hobbyist, but I do learn from these forums. (Full disclosure, I have actually gotten paid for editing and did video graphics for a while before getting into my full time business.) I'm not plugging this business or web site, but I found the Videoguys site (Gary Bettan & company) to be very helpful when it comes to explaining what you need and what really works. I have also bought from them and know them to be very honest, helpful and trustworthy.

There are also many helpful people here. I have learned from comments I've read that if you'll be doing weddings you'll need a good pair of running shoes. Because if your camera fails or you miss something you'll soon be chased by the 1) mother of the bride and 2) bride. In that order. <g>

Hope this helps!

Your best bet is to post in wedding & event forum instead of tech Q&A...not as many wedding VUers stop by this forum as the wedding and event one. Look through there...lots and lots of info.

Another thing is that I've posted questions that I'd never want my clients to know I asked, and I was given nothing but great positive responses from my fellow VUers. You've found friends here.

Good luck!
