logging footage Can't Post

I'm using a consumer level mini dv cam to bounce footage via firewire to my nle. The footage was shot on a professional level mini dv cam. Could this affect the end result of the captured footage.

No. DV is DV is DV...and so are DVCAM and DVCPRO25, for that matter, as long as your cam or deck can read them.

The benefit of a professional level DV camcorder is the optics. When the data runs through your consumer camera, its cheap optics don't play a role, so no worries.
