makeshift 'clip' for wireless mic? Can't Post

Hello, even though i said to myself at the time 'You better not take this off or you'll lose it' I am now sitting with a wireless mic for my camera with no 'clip' to hold it to the subject (like the ability to clip the mic onto the groom's tuxedo)

what do I do now?

Let me take RadioShack a step further. I went into one, they didn't have them in stock, but they ordered me a dozen clips and a dozen foam covers for not too much, AND had it all mailed directly to my home.

RADIOSHACK!

Thanks guys!

I hadn't thought about getting 'extras' but it seems like quite a nice investment

Bobby pins, paper clips, straight pins, black gaffer's tape, tie clasps.

Never let them see you sweat. Cool

I went to Radio Shack too. But when you've got questions they've got dumb answers. They said they could order me one it would take a week and cost $5 plus shipping. I said no thanks and inprovised. I found a clip for cellphone mic which was about $2.50. Most recently I saw the entire cellphone mic at the local Dollar Store

Check out Trew Audio [In reply to] Can't Post

You gotta check out Trew Audio anytime you're looking for audio accessories. OK, sure, they may not be RadioShack, but if you're looking for sound - er, 'scuse me "Audio Equipment" (sorry, I came from the Film world) - equipment, they are about as good a place as you can find.

I have a Sony ECM-77 and a SonoTrim lavalier, and i have had GREAT results with the Rycote Undercovers. These are sonically transparent adhesive pieces you use instead of a clip! Really fast, less mic and mic cable rustle, and since they come in white, black and gray, they really blend into just about any clothing.

I don't work for those guys at Trew, but I really appreciate real professionals. Check 'em out.

Best of luck!

What's the make of your wireless microphone? The manufacturer will have clips. Maybe not as cheap as you'd like, but they will fit the mic. Get several and keep some as spares. I guarantee you, you will lose one occasionally, no matter how careful you are. Same for foam wind screens. Grooms never seem very careful if I don't get to them right away and they take the mics off. That's how I lose most of the ones I've lost in the past.

I know you've got some roach clips lying around, probably in your sock drawer. Or maybe a paper clip?
