wireless setup problem Can't Post

Could someone please help me.This is going to be difficult for me to explain. I am rather new to wireless mics. I just purchased a new AG-DVC 30 to use to video weddings. At the same to I got the XLR adaptor (AG-MYA30G) and the XLR microphone (AG-MC100G) I installed them both without any problem....they work. I also got the Sennheiser ew100G@ wireless kit with the plug-on transmitter (SKP 100G2) Added the batteries and mounted the receiver on the available shoe on the handle of the AG-30 and ran the cable to the XLR adaptor. When I turn on both the transmitter and the receiver they appear to be working, meaning the moving bars indicate sound is being transmitter and received. On the camera LCD screen, the two channel indicators, however, do not move. Listening with my headphones I hear a muddy, distorted sound coming thru. but just not loud at all. When I turn off the transmitter for the lavelier mic and instead insert the plug-on transmitter into a standard handheld microphone, the receiver on the camera indicates that sound is being received but I get nothing thru the headphones. The moving bars on the SKP 100g2 barely move. Am I forgetting to do something in the setup? Both receiver and transmitter setting have not been changed...I'm guessing that they are at the factory default setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: [Cam] wireless setup problem [In reply to] Can't Post

By the process of elimination, I found out that one channel of the XLR Box is defective. Has anyone else had this problem? Unless you cannot have a wireless mic and a shotgun mic plugged into the same XLR box. Any comments would be helpful.

does your xlr box generate phantom power. As most shotgun mics will require it. Not sure about your particualr camera but Mine have to have the volume on the cameras LCD turned up in order to hear audio through headphones. Also may need to check your audio input settings on your camera if set to manual may need to gain it up.
