Buying Equipment Online Can't Post

Hello,

I was curious if anyone has done business with any of the following online video equipment sellers:

Royal Camera (royalcamera.com)

Broadway Photo (bwayphoto.com)

Express Camera (expresscameras.com)

The reason I ask is because of the often enormous price differences between vendors. I'm interested in several cameras (either the Panasonic AG-DVX100A, Sony PD170, or Canon XL1s) but haven't really made up my mind yet. I'm leaning mostly toward the Panasonic. Anyway, that's a whole new topic. I've seen the AG-DVX100A range from $1999 at Royal Camera to $3500 at BH photo. Obviously BH Photo is a great place, seems to be the most professional and trustworthy, but . . . .

I need to get my camera very soon and just want the best price I can get.

Anyone know of a good camera dealer in or around the bay area (San Francisco, California?)

thanks,

rory dean

A great website to check some of these guys out is bizrate.com or cnet.com. And from experience I can say that B&H does not always have their best prices on their website. It is worth a phone call to them to see what they have to offer, and you may learn something about what you are getting ready to buy. Watch out for refurbished equipment if the price is too much different between vendors, and bew sure to confirm shipment and delivery dates. I have seen stories on bizrate of people who waited months for their order (but not necessarily with these vendors).

The following site was very useful when I was looking for cheap prices and a dependable store. Read through some of the user ratings and decide. Good luck. I personally like B&H, however there prices are not alwasy the best and Newegg.
