A Novice's Observations on Underwater Video Can't Post

Getting good video is never easy. Attempting to shoot good video underwater was definately work. Fun but a whole new set of challenges. Keeping neutral while trying to hold the camera still, guessing what I was shooting at because I never got around to ordering the bi-focal inserts for my mask. Discovering how easy it was to shut the camera off without noticing. Being amazed how I was fast I was gulping through my air. It all felt like I was trying to juggle while rolling skating down a very steep hill backwards.

Here are some rough edits of several dives I took in Bonaire last week. Each two minutes or less. Encoded for broadband.

Your video looked cool. What were you shooting with?

Thanks. I shot with a PD150 in an Ikelite housing.

Good looking "rough" edit! What editing/rendering software did you use?

Max.

Vegas. Edited on a laptop after each dive.

Re: [RickSp] A Novice's Observations on Underwater Video [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Rick,
I am new to this forum. I usually stay on the Wedding Forum. The only reason I got into wedding video was to be able to buy a housing for my camera. Hopefully next year I will be able to do that. I am shooting with 2 FX1s and 1 Z1 and one of the reasons for buying them was to be able to shoot HDV underwater. Your clips looked good. I have a little practice with video underwater about 15 years ago. Even with a small housing and a small camera, I understand what you mean about staying neutral and everything. Good comments. I am sure to get really great at it takes a ton of practice, but so does everything!
