Help to put controls to an old housing Can't Post

Hello, I live in Mexico and have an old cast housing that I want to adapt to a Sony DCR-HC85.
The cast reads: Design by Al Giddings. The Bamboo Reef San Francisco California. Cine Mar I.
Yes, I know its a relic... It was used by my dad (+) long time ago.

I already adapt the camera support but I want to adapt some controls to operate it (at the moment I turn it on with the remote control before I go underwater). If possible, I would like to put some controls to to turn on and off the videocam.

My goal is to record some recreational surfing, whitewater rafting and diving (no more than 80 ft deep, mainly 30 to 60 feet dives).

I would greatly apprecciate your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Carlos

Ikelite sells some of their control arms separately so you might be able to adapt them. I'm not familiar with your housing so I don't know if they'll work with it. There's also LANC controllers sold on eBay occasionally, with a little modification you might be able to rig up some electronics.
