L&M Bluefin HC1 White Balance Hack... Can't Post

OK. So, I finally did it. I purchased and L&M Bluefin for my HC1.
I have heard rumblings of a mythical LANC Hack to allow me to do "one touch" white balance. I have seen posts on wetpixel pointing to this site about it..but can't find it anywhere. I am going to call L&M about it...but would rather just read it in a forum...since that is much less time waiting in a phone queue.

Could someone please point me in the right direction...if I am not on a wild goose chase?

Thank you,
Doug

Hey Doug,

Thanks for buying a BlueFin HC1. Here's the scoop on the mythical "LANC White Balance Hack." For the FX1 we were able to execute white balance, but we noticed the color was consistently different than the manual WB on the FX1 so we decided to implement a manual WB control for the FX1 and never shipped the LANC control WB. As for the HC1, LANC WB is probably in there somewhere, but we never tried to access it based on our FX1 experience.

Thank you Barrett,
I appreciate the information.

So, I gather that on the HC1 we should just use the Program AE settings and the auto white balance's "indoor" or "outdoor" settings.
Plus the flip filter.

Thanks again,
Doug

No problem. As far as white balance goes, if you can't set it per shot, I've found it is best to shot in auto uw. -Barrett
