Mini DV Camcorder [Panasonic} Can't Post

Hi, I bought a Panasonic Mini DV camcorder. I want to put the video on my computer to burn a Video CD. I have the USB cable that came with the camera and it will transfer the digital stills fine from the memory card. I can't get it to work with the video though. I also have a fire wire that fits from computer to camcorder but when I use that absolutely nothing happens. One the camcorder's screen it just says PC Acessing but nothing happens. I have HP Media Centre, with WinXP Media Centre Edition. Please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks

Teejal, try capturing through your firewire cable using Scenalyzer: http://www.scenalyzer.com/ I've used this for years and it's a fantastic program. There is a trial version with watermark and it doesn't cost much to buy.

If "my computer" isn't recognizing your camera at all then you have a Windows problem that others may be better placed to help you with.
