WARNING Seacam Subsea Systems housing for Z1/FX1 Can't Post

I bought a housing for the Sony HVR-Z1U from Ed Ivey at Seacam Subsea Systems fo $3600. He promised 30 days to ship--it took more than 4 months to arrive. The first time I used it the controls didn't work and the housing leaked. I sent it back--some weeks later I got it back--the controls worked sometimes, but it still leaked. I sent it back again (4 months ago)--about once a month I email or call to see what's up (I make my living shooting in and around the ocean) the once or twice that he actually responded, he assured me that the housing would be shipped out that week. Here it is December 28th and I still don't have the housing--when I asked for my money back he refused and said that he would send the housing back to me "this week". When I mentioned the possibility that I would visit him at his shop in Huntington--he threatened to call the cops. Basically I paid a lot of money for a housing that didn't work and leaked--I've missed out on jobs and events that would have made money for me and my company--and I guess, I've learned a very expensive lesson. Hopefully you will learn from my mistake and find another housing for your expensive gear. If you want to shoot on or near the surface, SPL Waterhousings make a relatively inexpensive housing that works quite well--for the deep stuff go with a Gates or Light & Motion housing. Good luck!
