17" MacBook Pro deal... Can't Post

Hi All,

One of the MacBook Pros I use I picked up from this company over a year ago for $1700 and they have a new supply available at $1300. Put another gig of RAM in for $20 (check dealram.com) and swap out the 80gb for a much larger one for under $100 and you've got a great self-contained editing system.

Hi Scott,

No, but the difference is very minimal. You can check the actual cpu performance of different models here:

http://www.primatelabs.ca/...mance-february-2008/

MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo) Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.16 GHz - 2689
MacBook Pro (17-inch) Intel Core Duo @ 2.16 GHz - 2586

This is less than half-price compared to the current 2.5 GHz MacBook Pro 17", which has a rating of 3228.

The big difference for me is that model I believe only takes 2gb ram whereas the new ones take 4gb... this can be a pretty big difference depending on what you are doing...

Oh, and the video chip and ram...

Cheers,
Scott
