A MAC "Must See" Video Can't Post

Someone sent this link on another video mailing list so I thought I would share here. It's a funny clip no matter what computer you use! Not really wedding related but still fun to watch...

Hi Eric,
I can't watch it either. My guess is that it was encoded using Windows Media Player 9 (?). The Mac version is stuck at ver. 7...

These parodies are funny, I admit.
But PLEEEEASE, people, can we PLEASE stop making fun of those who use a different computer than we do?
Macs are good, PCs are good. Mac users are people, PC users are people. Let's just all get along...
And if we don't, I'M GOING TO GET ANGRY! You DON'T want to see me when I'm angry. Trust me.

Ditto that Dough. I'm a macaddict and proud of it. I don't care about differences, but I do think Switchers are very intelligent people who know how to make great decisions--just kidding.

It was a humorous clip... nothing more! [In reply to] Can't Post

Lighten up guys! It was a funny clip... nothing more. Why does everyone "read" more into it?? It's just a video clip and no one was making fun of anyone for using a certain type of computer! No crazy computer wars were started... no harm was done... and no animals were abused ;-)
It was a funny clip about computers not doing the things we want them to and the frustrations we go through trying to get our computers to work the way we want them to ;-)
That's why I said (in my original msg) that it was funny no matter what type of computer you use. Sorry if you think there is more to it but you would assume wrongly. I'll use the best tool for the job whether it's MAC, PC, or whatever!

I only got the audio not the video. I am on a (Mac) :) though.
That Windows Media Player in Explorer 5.1 is frustrating for me. Safari sure seems to play Windows Media files better.

Re: A MAC "Must See" Video [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Joel,
You were right, it was created in WM9. I converted it to QT although the sync may be off from the .wmv conversion. You should be able to view it now.
Thanks for the tip on Macs being at Ver7.1 of WMP. I learned something new today! Guess I should encode at Ver 7.1 if I want max playability. I haven't had much luck with WM9 anyway. My clips come out soft. Probably a setting somewhere that I don't have set right. QT is so much easier to work with!

Oh Doug...come on.....don't be sensitive...<grin>
As long as there are different platforms of computers, this kind of back and forth stuff will admit....it's human nature.....and as long as it stays in good taste and stays friendly, I think it's ok....
Its the same with Windows vs Linux folks (I like Linux but use WIndows), Explorer vs Netscape folks (Explorer is easier to maintain), Honda vs harley folks (I am a Honda folk) and Chevy vs Ford folks ( I have both, plus a Dodge).....
I have worked on both PCs and MACs (admitedly more on PCs) and they BOTH have their share of crashes, glitches and problems....
They are JUST machines....who cares what the label says....
Now, can we all just give each other a big warm multi-platform hug???
:)

I didn't mind Eric's post, or the Switch parody...I just foresaw this as the possible start of another Mac vs. PC flame war, which I DO mind!

I use mac and like it alot but I think the movie was funny.
I get frustrated with the mac because I like to buy books on programs like Premiere 6.5, only to find out that they are written on a PC. Boy does that create problems, too many to list. Makes me either want to jump ship or only buy Apple producsts, so books will be true to the core. I will venture to say very very few books on Adobe Premiere 6.5 are written on a Mac! I'll bet there are a lot of applications out there with the same problem..
