Congratulations Rob on getting such a great letter. Hope it brings lots of business! The letter made me so want to see the video. Weird question I know but the letter made me curious... did you think the video was as awesome as she said?
Why, what made it so great? Care to share any techniques you use?

Rob
Great letter. Here are a couple of ideas on how to market with that letter.
At the WEVA Expo LaDonna Moore presented a workshop on Testimonial Demos. They seem to be very effective. While the letter is fresh, you should ask the Bride if she is willing to read that letter for you.
I have also seen letters like this on videographers websites, but what we chose to do on our site was to use just one sentence from a letter and use those on each page of the site. Some brides won't take the time to read an entire letter, but most will read one sentence.
Just a thought.

That's the neat thing about a web site. You can have the "teaser" sentence right up front, and then a link such as "Read the entire letter *here*".

Rob,
That's a really nice letter. You should post the same gif on
your website. Reading from it, the client was really satisfied with your work.
I think if we videographers produce more quality productions as Rob did, we won't have anymore problems convincing clients that video is must have.
Rob, thanks for sharing... made me think to send anniversary cards and a follow-up to my previous clients.

Doug, that IS a great idea. I am in the process of having a website designed for me, and I think I just may use that idea!
Thanks,
Marshall

Thanks for the input from everyone. I really like the idea of using the teaser
line and then having a link for prospective clients to read. Also the idea of
having the Bride read some of the testimonial so that one can make either an
audio or video testimonial that can be show at the office or on the web could
be great in putting a face to the words.
Thanks again. I must get my butt in gear and send out anniversary cards.
Cheers.
Rob

I received one very similar to yours, Rob, last fall. If I may, I'd like to share it with all of you, and, yes, it DOES make all the work and effort we put into it well worth it. This is a VERY rewarding job if we care enough to make our videos an emotional, beautifully told story. No picture of it, but this is what she wrote, unedited:
Dear Marshall:
Thank you so much for the fantastic job you did on our wedding video. Like most brides and grooms, it was extremely important for us to fully capture the most important day of our life together on film. The video you produced for us did that and more.
First of all, you caught on tape what we consider to be the most meaningful moments of the day. It seemed like you were always at the right place at the right time. You truly captured all the emotion and joy of the day, along with those funny and unexpected moments that only happened once in a lifetime.
In addition, the editing job you did was remarkable. We had a lot of video coverage to choose from, and you pulled out the most significant and entertaining parts of the day. On top of that, the music you chose and how you incorporated it was perfectly timed and appropriate. The video just flowed so beautifully and creatively from one scene to the next.
But, Marshall, we have to say that the best part of the video was the joy it brought to both our families. We had the official "Wedding Video Premier" last Sunday, and both sets of parents just loved it! They laughed and cried throughout. The baby montage and love story interviews were particularly touching for them.
If I could give future brides and grooms any advice about planning their wedding day, it would be to make sure to invest in a professional videographer, and to use MJM Video Productions!
Again, we can't thank you enough for capturing our wedding day so beautifully on film. We will treasure it for a lifetime.
Yours truly,
Kristin and Gary Lane Married November 3, 2002

And they gladly gave me permission to use this on my website.
