Adjusting still pic washed out look in photoshop Can't Post

I read in a post a little while back, suggestions for adjusting photos in photoshop when they appear washed out in the final video.
If you have suggestions thank you very much. I only remember something about NOT using the brightness adjustment (I think)

For washed out photos you really need a sat/hue adjustment to bring out the colors. and a curve adjustment to get rid of the flatness and exposure problems.
