Hi Laura, If you are in the downtown West Palm area AKA "City Place", it's very nice looking, but after dark I would not walk alone. Be especially careful of your equipment and never leave anything unattended. I have had gear taken by hotel help in another venue when left briefly. Fortunately it was only a $500. idx battery charger. Ft Lauderdale is similar after dark especially if you get off Los Alos Blvd which is the tourist area. Check out Hollywood beach boardwalk..it's very funky. Lots of Canadians "aye?" A good Greek restaurant near Hollywood beach is Taverana Opa. Also, you shound really go to South Beach in Miami. That is worth the drive. I think you'll really appreciate "Deco Drive". If you have a couple of days, make the trip to Key West (3 hours drive from Miami). It's voted one of Amreica's most senic highways. 44 bridges span 120miles of overseas highway. The 7 mile bridge is where they shot True Lies. They shot the bomb scene and minatures down my street in Sugarloaf Shores on the ocean. We have a modest house on small lake in Boynton Beach about 20 minutes from our PO Box in Palm Beach. We really are only up that way when we are doing corporate work on the mainland. We don't do weddings on the mainland. We live most of the time in Sugarloaf Shores which is on an island 14 miles up from Key West which is where our office is. The Keys are very different from the mainalnd. Lauderdale and West Palm really aren't very good examples of Florida as I think that they remind me of New Jersey with Palm trees. Miami and South Beach and the Keys are more typical of the scenes you'd associates with the tropics and the images you see on CSI Miami. Enjoy you stay and let me know if you are planning a trip to KW. Best, Craig 1.888.KEYSTV-1
