I also use Vegas+DVD Architect. A week ago, I decided to do a freebie, 2 hours and 5 min on 1 DVD. The quality was much better than I thought it would be. Others said the same. However, when I looked close, I could see occassional artifacts. I encoded Mpeg2 and AC3 Audio in Vegas, made many pages of Menus and animated thumbnails, and moving backgrounds. Ended up at about 4.6 Varible Bit Rate. Checking the bit rate indicator on the player, showed that it went as high as 6,(seldom) and as low as 3.5 at times, but mostly stayed around 4-5. The good thing about this freebie was that they called the next day, said it was a great video, and ordered 7 more DVDs. I copied to DVD-R and DVD+R. Ed Kinnear : I was wondering... I have been using Premiere 6.5 to edit and Adobe MPEG encoder to to compress to dvd format. (Sonic DVDit to print DVD). My questions are, how many minutes should I be able to fit on a DVD and what are some of the settings you guys are using to acheive 1) best quality and 2) most minutes? : I have been able to fit approx 1 hour and 20 minutes using a 50 for video encoder quality (max) and a 5Mbps. Does this sound right or are there tweeks that should allow me to fit more footage on a DVD? : Thanks ahead of time to all who can help. : Bryan : On Screen Video
