DVDit question... Can't Post

Hey guys..
I'm currently using DVDit PE as my authoring software... I have no problem making functional DVDs but I would love for my navigation to be more aesthetically pleasing. I know you can make buttons, and I know you can use text as buttons, but I haven't seen a clear cut way to make interactive buttons on it; like a webpage with "onmouseover" graphics and "onmouseclick" graphics. Can this be done in DVDit PE? Can Flash be used with it? Or do I need to look at something big-time like ReelDVD?

To keep all of your current functionality (such as AC-3 encoding) and add things like motion menus, you will need to upgrade to ReelDVD. It appears to have several advantage over DVDit PE such as customizable buttons, motion menus and buttons, and a method of specifying the order of buttons chosen when the arrows are pressed. Just saw a demo of ReelDVD and it looks really good (I currently use DVDit PE).

You can do different button 'states' I believe. Basically, it means there is the 'static or normal' state and the 'selected' state. Beyond that, the DVD spec supporst motion menus but DVDit PE does not. for motion menus you need to step up to ReelDVD or step over to Ulead but, it has it's own compromises.

Have you considered Pinnacle Impression Pro 2.2
This supports motion menus and buttons/images made in photoshop and is alot cheaper than Reel DVD!

The problem with Pinnacle and Ulead is that neither will encode AC-3 audio. DVDit PE and ReelDVD both encode AC-3.

I do my photo galleries by using next and previous arrows. The photos are really menus. This works well for me and is a work around. As you know DVDit is limited to a highlight rollover so if you want more you'll need a different program. It does the following:
thumbnail chapter buttons
audio play during menus
photo gallery (with the work around)
multiple submenus
Alternate audio track to a movie
