Delivery of Final DVDs..how do u do it? Can't Post

I am constantly looking for ways to present the final DVD's to the clients. Photographers have nice albums that also tend to come in nice boxes which certainly look very professional.

I am wondering what everyone else does for their DVD's. I am not really referring to jewelboxing, plastic dvd cases etc. but more how do you actually pass them over.

I post alot of mine out to clients and have tried standard boxes, gift boxes, gift wrap, gift bags, etc. but none of them really stike me as being very professional.

Anybody have better ideas (I'm sure there are many) you'd care to share?

Cheers,
Troy

I just bubble wrap the DVD cases and ship them out, usually by UPS. Nothing fancy.

I second the bubble wrap. If any of my brides think it's unprofessional or want some colored box with a ribbon around it, then they came to the wrong place. Fancy packaging is the first thing we cut to keep our prices low.

Usually USPS Priority Mail, unless the client is nearby in which case I deliver by hand. When I do that I just hand them the DVD cases, no boxes or such. Last night I delivered DVDs to a client in a paper bag from the local supermarket. But they had ordered 20 extra copies and I needed something to carry all those DVDs in.

Almost all of my deliveries are local, and I put the DVD's into a gold-colored gift bag. If I have established a good, friendly relationship with the bride, and if I know that she will probably get emotional while watching the video, I will include a pocket-pack of tissues with a stickynote attached that reads, "Just in case". (A little bit of humor never hurts).

I put the DVD's in clear plastic bags. Unlike shrink wrap, these are re-sealable, and you don't need any special gear to wrap your DVD case. Not bad for like 10 cents a piece....

http://www.supermediastore.com/...c-bag-dvd-cases.html

Then I just mail them in a Priority Mail box...which is cheaper than the gas it would cost to hand deliver them...and probably faster. Tongue

Most of my clients are within relative distance to my office, so from the beginning they know they come to me - they meet me here, drop off pictures here and pick up DVD's here---

with that I have custom bags made up real simple white plastic bags - heavy duty material - kinda the thickness of a lawn and garden bag - but smaller -has my logo / website /phone number on it - will fit anywhere from 1 disk to about 10-15 depending on how a squeeze it in there...and if there are pix etc....

Nice and simple and helps keep things organized since as soon as I'm done with the gig everything goes in there (except for masters they go in my back storage room).....

Occasionally I will ship if necessary...but only if the client pays for it...

I think you may want to ask your question again but split it into price points. Something like fancy packaging on top of your DVD case would generally not be something you would find in a budget package, as it wouldn't make nearly as much sense there.

We have started putting our finished DVDs in little chic bags that are in bright colors. Those are filled with tissue paper in complimentary colors as well as a nice big thank-you note. Costs us a couple bucks per and doesn't make a huge difference, but it sure is a nice first impression when they come in to pick something up.For us, the ley to making this work is to have an office assistant as it would be way to time consuming and unpractical otherwise.

Most of my brides are out of my area, so I mail them a pack of tissue and some popcorn, along with a hand-written thank you note. I use standard white DVD cases.

When I deliver them in person I give them the DVD's in a white gift bag with tissue paper and a bottle of sparkling cider, along with the things mentioned above.

Next year when I start delivering Blu-Ray I'll use the deluxe leather cases from here:

All SD DVD's will be delivered in the same cases I use now.

Nice multi colored but text only printed DVDs in a clamshell or slim jewel case. Then in a resealable clear plastic bag - made for CD/DVD jewel cases. A padded envolope with printed 5160 address label and a bit more fancy VHS face label for the return address. Sent via USPS first class mail with stamps. Spent about $30,000 on stamps with the post office. They have only crushed a few videos over the years.

I work with a local advertising specialty company - but they ship/work with worldwide clients talk to eric @ www.alltypes.com he pretty much can put your name / logo on everything.....

I'm all about branding...so my logo is pretty much on me and my people at some point in times...either in shirts, silk shirts for weddings, jackets, hats fleeces etc etc....so he was able to take care of all of that for me....

Slipping them inside the screen door at 3:00 a.m. works for me. Laugh

If I can't do that it's USPS priority mail. Free boxes and labels. I pack 'em with all the bubble wrap and crap I get after spending the kid's college money at B&H. Tongue
