Have any of you made a great video but the couple got divorced? Can't Post

I was just wondering if any of you made a great wedding video but years down the line the couple got divorced?

I actually shot one ( a friend of ours) who never even consumated the relationship. She realized that nite she didnt want to be with him.
She did look like she was in a daze during the wedding though.

Bill: Just curious - did they not pick up the tape before or after they paid you for the job?

Larry,
Fortunately I got paid. I have always required full payment on or before the wedding day.

Not yet, however, I did have a Bride call me 4 days before the wedding and say that the Groom left her a letter saying he wasn't ready and had moved to Dallas. I felt so bad for her that I gave the deposit back.

I'd bet money that he had a "sudden" change of heart, "came back" and married her that weekend. They probably found someone cheaper and needed to figure out a way to get rid of you in order to book them instead.
Even if her little sob story was true, I wouldn't have given away one red cent! She booked your time, her problem isn't _your_ problem. I would have taken the money, taken my wife out on a weekend getaway and said, "Thanks!"

Don't feel bad Judy ... I've done the same thing ... twice.
The first one was for a gal who had a sister that I shot a wedding for. I could have kept the deposit, but I didn't. She'll get married some day and I have a good feeling they'll be giving me a call when she's ready.
The second one called me almost in tears and explained that the groom got cold feet. She knew it was not my policy to refund but asked it she could even get part of it as it was her family that was paying for most of the expenses. I gave her a complete refund. I told her I would think about it and call her back.
The first thing I did was to call the reception hall to verify the cancellation. Sure thing ... they lost a $1500 deposit! Now I really felt bad for them so I gave them the deposit back. I think at the time it was only $300 and I hadn't been turning down jobs for the date.
Anyway, two months later she called again and booked my services ... she was marrying the same guy. I shot that wedding this summer and they had to cut back on the reception facilities because of all the money they lost the first time around. I still got paid my regular fee, so that was fine for me.
I just didn't want you to think you were the only softie when it comes to a bride in tears. I know it's not good business sense, but if it makes ME feel better to return it then that's what counts. :-)

Thanks Scott. I don't feel bad. I know the paster of that church and he really did run off. I'm a softie and always will be. Wouldn't want to be any other way! :)
