How Much Time Can't Post

I've seen this question here before but cant remember the response. On the average, how much raw video do you end up with after shooting; pre wed, wed, pics, & recep? How much time do you spend editing?

Re: How Much Time [In reply to] Can't Post

Actually,is 1:7 relationship and this is very good
for any experienced user.
Also the scene cutter filter from Pinnacle DV 500plus
it made me rethink my edit method and change it
to a simple 25 frames dissolve.
I think telling the story "gently" is more important
than any kind of special effects.
In general the time is in relationship with your
editing skills, your method of telling the story and
the duration of the actual video.

Re: How Much Time [In reply to] Can't Post

First I shoot about 10 to 15 minutes of preceremony stuff.
Then I use three cameras at the ceremony so it's the ceremony length times 3. Usually the reception is about 2 hours of raw footage but sometimes more. So with an hour long ceremony it ends up being about 5 and a half hours or more.

Hey Troy,
It all depends on the style of video you produce. I shoot, on average, 8 60 min. tapes per wedding. Sometimes more, rarely less. The breakdown is as follows:
Pre-cermemony 30-60 minutes
Ceremony 3 x ceremony length (3 cameras)
Post-Ceremony 20-40 minutes
Reception 1 hour on cam 2 and 2 hours on cam 1. 3 hours total.
Edited programs are usually 1:30 to 2hrs long....
