Very nice. Let me tell you though, my wife and I have been taking dance lessons for almost 2 years now and are no where near this level. This couple has been either dancing for quite a while, or just practiced for hours and hours. They are very good. Thanks for sharing.

Bruce, we used to do competition dancing for the university. We loved dancing but just can't find the time these days. This couple had only been taking lessons for a few months, just focusing on the first dance, but they will keep on dancing... it's addictive!

I am sure they put hours of practice into it. Makes me really want to focus on one or 2 dances, but then I get bored.

Hey, great clip.

It's refreshing to see couples dance without a plastic cup or bottle in one hand. Laugh

Nice to see real dancing for a change! I'm so used to the same boring routine that I wish I could trade with you. Nice footage and shots, too.

Your editing and multiple cameras made it even more impressive. Imagine the same dance with just a single, floor-level shot. Nice work.

Great dance and cam work. Only complaint is that you should have used light!

Over here it's also usually the same old boring wiggle. Although Strictly Come Dancing (or Dancing with the Stars as they named in the US) has made a difference. Out of the 3 weddings we did last week, 2 of them had taken lessons and one of them had a rather impressive lift, but none quite as good as these guys.

Regarding lights: the couple really prefered not to have any extra lights, they were ok with having lower quality footage. But if ever there was a venue to use a light, that would have been it, it was the darkest place we've ever worked in!

There would have to be a hell of a lot of cash coming in our direction before that will ever happen! Tongue
We would also accept gifts like a new Sony Z7...

Very impressive dance and editing job by you. Just one complaint, though: Even though the lighting was poor, you might have considered bringing up levels and color correcting in post, so her gown and his shirt and vest are not quite as yellow as they appear in your shots. Othewise, I applaud the couple for taking the time to learn and rehearse that routine. Bravo!

The way you mixed the audio on that ... was that just the
way you did it for display on your blog? Or is that the
way it will be on their finished video, too?

now that's a first dance. i like that you chose the balcony angle to see her dress spinning.

awesome song, too. nothing like hearing young Obi-Wan Kenobi doing an Elton John classic.

thanks for sharing!

I totally agree with you about doing some proper colour correction, but this clip isn't part of their final edit and I really just couldn't be bothered. I just wanted to show of their dancing rather than my editing/filming.
Trust me, the bits of it that went into their proper edit, have better colours!

the audio is like that's just for this clip. They have a short form edit so their first dance isn't in the main edit like this.
