JVC HM-D30000U HDTV Recorder Can't Post

Is anyone using this model (HM-D30000U)? I'm looking for a larger tape format to store masters without dropouts or glitches.
I've tried using the JVC HR-DV2U and was not satisfied with how the mini-dv played back tapes recorded on a Canon GL1. So I'm skeptical of JVC DV.
This HDTV video recorder looks interesting because I can get multiple (60 minute) weddings on a single DVHS tape in HQ.
I would appreciate any feedback...couldn't find any reviews on this unit.
