Jewelboxing Can't Post

Just got this in an email from Jewelboxing. For those of you who aren't sure about using their product, here is a good time to check it out!
We Give Up
Look and Feel, Fit and Finish, Please and Thank-You. We've tried everything from videos to blog entries to testimonials and we still can't manage to communicate the physical superiority of the custom disc packages people create with our Jewelboxing system. So instead of telling you about them, we're gonna show you. While supplies last (and we have a pretty big supply) just visit this page and ask us nicely and we'll send you a sample free. After you have it in your hands, we dare you to not order.
Offer: If you already know how cool our product is, or if you just trust us then order a 40, 60, 100 or 150pack from Jewelboxing before Monday the 17th and save $20. Just use the coupon code IBELIEVE

Tell them I told you! I have no connection with them other than I use their product and I have no clue if they might throw an extra 5 cases at me or not someday, but it doesn't hurt, does it? ;)

I've heard about them both here and on photography forums. Some love 'em while others act like they've had problems with the printing and calibration with their printers.

I might have to break down and give them a try.

Thanks, Laura.

Thanks Laura,

Those look pretty cool. I assume you could print right on a dvd instead of using the labels, correct? Would make sense...

Thanks again...

Re: [Sparky] Jewelboxing [In reply to] Can't Post

I do know a few people have had some problems. I totally forgot to address that...sorry! I have an Epson R300 and had issues with the paper feeding through because it's fairly thick and the Epson is garbage. So I bought a Canon Pixma iP6700D which is what the Jewelboxing people recommend and love it. I modified it to also print onto DVDs (you can do a Google search on that and buy a tray from ebay) and hooked it us with an ink caddy (which works most of the time). Anyway, I have a template that I use in Photoshop. It did take a little while to get it lined up properly but now I very rarely waste an insert. I LOVE the cases. I believe Jerome is printing them successfully on his HP Color Laserjet. I have the same printer as his but I prefer the quality of the inkjet.

HTH!

Hi Lee,

I haven't used labels for a long time, but that's the way they ship them. I just wind up throwing them out. I print the DVDs on my Canon printer using Discus 4. I do have to move the image up slightly in order for it to match the background picture when I chose to print that way. There are some sample cases on our website here: http://www.edit1media.com/rates_enhance.html

This irks me.. I placed an order YESTERDAY from them... no coupon code for me! Oh well, they are superior and totally awesome! Thanks for turning me on to them a while back!

Re: [Scott S] Jewelboxing [In reply to] Can't Post

Scott,

It's some Chinese cheap thing that occassionally leaks or decides to clog up. It's not nearly as good as the Ink Caddy II we had for the Epson from Reliant Digital. BUT it's still much more cost effective, especially because the Canon will suck thru ink very quickly! I believe we got it from Kyson USA out of Dallas. We just recently bought ink refills too.

Thanks Laura,, I have been dipping into my son's college fund just to keep ink that damn Canon printer (that printer sucks those ink cartridges fast) I have been using refill ink cartridges which work pretty good and are half price, but this sounds like an even better deal.. especially if it works at least most of the time.

Re: [szerangue] Jewelboxing [In reply to] Can't Post

I did get pretty frustrated at it today when it leaked some ink all over a DVD. It seems like I have to clean the heads all the time. But it still saves a boat load of money over buying the ink cartridges, especially since I print ALOT of stuff!! I use it for all my smaller (under 100 DVD) jobs and then use the Bravo for larger jobs. I wish they made an ink caddy for that sucker! LOL!!

So yes, you can get one, just be forewarned that it's not a good quality one like the Ink Caddy II. I think that's why Reliant Digital decided not to sell them. But as long as I have Chris here to help me with all the technical issues, I'm OK with it. Thank goodness he almost never goes on trips without me. Can you even imagine me here alone in this studio trying to fix crap? Now THAT would be a disaster!

Hi, Laura. I've been using these for almost a year now - they are GREAT! Pretty annoying to put together - but how they look and feel is far superior to a standard $.25 dvd box - IMHO.
