Greg, Do you ENJOY trolling? Sure seems that way, from your recent posts. First we get a great flame war going based on the way you described your initial foray into wedding video, and now you want to start a Mac-vs.-PC war? Must we? Both Macs and PCs do great video editing. Which one you choose depends largely on your personal preferences. Ignore all the "Macs are better" and the "PCs are cheaper" proselytes out there. Try them both and decide which one YOU like. If I were choosing a video editing setup from scratch, I'd first decide which editing user interface I felt most comfortable using (some popular choices are Final Cut Pro, Premiere, Vegas Video, Pinnacle Edition, and Avid Xpress DV). Do this by getting a hands-on demo of your top choices, or if you can't manage that, then order an instructional tape or book and study that. Then I'd figure out whether my choice had a compatible real-time capture card available for it, and whether I needed real-time capability. Next, I'd pick the computer platform that supported my NLE software and hardware choices. Finally, I would decide whether I knew enough about that particular computer and its hardware and software components to risk building the system myself from scratch, or if I should buy a system assembled and tuned from an experienced systems integrator. Regards, Doug Graham
