Maybe a dumb HD question Can't Post

Ok I know I should know the answer to this, but here goes. If I am shooting in HD and deliver in SD wide screen format is everything I see in my lcd going to be in the sd widescreen format? In other words, is anything going to be cut off when rendering out to SD wide screen??

You still deal with overscan. BUT its not as bad as 4:3 is.

So is the overscan a real small area on the sides of what you see in the lcd?

Yep... well, depends on your camera and LCD. Its barely noticeable. I don't know an exact percentage what would be considered safe though. If I didn't have all the crap going on that I do right at the moment, I'd run a test and see.... it will be a while before I could do that though.

Hi Jerome,

In my experience its not the aspect ratio that causes more or less underscan but the monitor type. CRT's have more underscan than LCD or plasma monitors do.
