I don't think it needs to be one or the other so thats why i am trying to hone a style that mixes the best of both worlds. I think that is my own personal sweetspot. Hi Daniel, Agreed. We've always been a mixture of the two ourselves. Have you ever thought about NOT honing a style as a selling point? It's been a natural metamorphosis for me, with our premium packages, to just sit down and do what feels right with the edit. I hadn't much thought about it until a client - a groom no less - asked me yesterday to "custom design" (his words) his wedding film. From the editing style, to every track of music, to the storytelling. This is what I usually do anyway, but to have someone actually request it in those terms was a delightful surprise! It was so exciting to have my efforts in this regard recognized and for a client to "get it". Back to the original post though and those who call it “bullocks” - whenever any videographer or group of videographers tries to reinvent, revitalize, or improve any genre of wedding filmmaking it generates excitement in the industry and gets everyone thinking about ways to improve their own productions. Though no one style is a panacea each offers gems that can be use to great effect for those willing to learn from change. Warmest regards, Laura Vantage Point Productions, Inc. www.SteveandLaura.com Have you ever seen so many gulls? What do you suppose it is?
