Re: [Bauerjoe] My Very First WDE [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Joe,

I thought you did a great job for your first one. Worthy of a big screen presentation. Welcome to the world of SDE's! One thing that's been working for us is tag-teaming the edit with my wife. Keeps the stress level down knowing that I don't have to do the whole thing and I get her magical touch on the video.

Loyd

What I learned is that I need a different work flow to get the job done more efficiently. I might try the index thing, but whatever I do is going to require a rethink.

Re: [Edit 1 Media] My Very First WDE [In reply to] Can't Post

It was time constraints that really put a strain on me. We decided to use this opportunity because of the gap between ceremony and reception and the proximity of both venues to our studio. I know audience reaction would have been better on a big screen but our main purpose was to try it and put together a demo (I'm not real sure I want to use THAT one though LOL!)
Thanks for your comments.

My wife DID say that EVENTUALLY she wanted to learn how to edit...but I don't think this was the situation she was thinking about Sly

She just runs a camera right now? What NLE are you on?

I'll probably bawl at your wedding. Why not? It's the most important day of your life and you chose me to record it. What an honor! I absolutely love what I do with a passion!! I have had the privilege of working with a lot of really amazing couples, many of which have become fiends since their Most Special Day.

Great first SDE!
Just a shame you didn't get to project it as it really should have gotten all those oohs and aahs!

Hi Joe,

Great first SDE! It's amazing what one can get done in few hours when the adrenaline gets flowing! Some great shots as well! As far as the tape-issue goes: we currently use one cam with a firestore and a second one with tapes only from which we only use selected shots. It works does give you more editing time. Sorry you missed out on the Ooohs and Aaahs, that's where the projection comes in, I guess. Seriously though, great clip! Looking forward to seeing your next WDE!
