In the NPVA/NE's desire to provide a top notch educational forum to its members in the video production industry, the NPVA/NE board has created programming which we hope will interest and serve the larger event and corporate community in the Boston area. An Editing Software Showdown: This is collegial competition with a pop! - an immediate way to be educated, enlightened and entertained about the similarities and differences between editing systems as they are presented side by side. Have you ever wondered - How does my editing software stack up? Am I on the right track? Do you struggle to discern the respective strengths of Liquid, Premiere, Vegas, Edius and FCP? On Monday, October 20th, we will have our standard membership dinner @ 6:30PM at the Holiday Inn/Dedham. Following the meal, we will open up the programming side of the meeting, free, to the general public at 7:30. The Format: Representatives from the 5 major editing software companies will each have 20 minutes to present the most compelling attributes of their softwares. Additionally, each representative, will have 5 minutes to execute a project common to each software so that you the viewer can see the workflow and any qualitative differences. Raffle Items!!! Through the kindness of the sponsoring companies, and your business card, we will raffle off the following items: 1 Free Copy of Avid Media Composer 1 Free Copy of Sony Vegas 8.0 1 Free Copy of Edius 5.0 1 Free Copy of Adobe CS 4 Production Premium Suite Could there be a more important place for you to be on the third Monday in October? Because we anticipate a justifiably larger audience for this event, I am sending this email to you so that you may put this date on your calendar and also so you will have the opportunity to invite any friends/acquaintances to what promises to be an outstanding event. RSVP Please feel free to forward this invitation to any friends in the industry whom you think will appreciate this opportunity. To RSVP, non-members may email me directly: whit@waleswedding.com. (Certainly, too, if you want to invite friends for dinner beforehand, they, too, are welcome - dinner fees are $20 per person, as per usual.) Wishing you fine and profitable weeks ahead! Until October 20th!! Sincerely, Whit Whit Wales President, NPVA/NE ( Posted by Video Geek!)
