Pass through? Can't Post

Hi All:
Does anyone know if we can do a pass through with either a Sony DSR 11 or a VX2000? We were asked to convert some training tapes (VHS) to DVD, and are wondering what would be the best way to capture them into our computer.
Also what would you charge for such a service?
Thanks for all your help.

Yes, the VX2K will "Pass Through" convert analog to digital.
I've done this very thing with a TRV-18 with good success.

Hi Mike,
Capturing 'S' footage thru PD-150, VX-2000: Connect 'S' and audio cables from 'S' source to the camera's 'S' and audio output ports. Turn camera on and switch to VCR . Open LCD screen and press menu, goto page VCR SET and scroll down to A/V - DV Out and set it to ON. With some editing set ups you may need to put a previously recorded mini DV tape in the camera and press play for the computer to recognize that a data stream is coming in. When a picture is seen in the capture window press stop on the camera and press play on 'S' deck or other player that is passing through the camera.

You didn't mention what NLE you're using, but with Vegas ( and maybe others..), you have to "Disable Device Control" in your capture preferences, otherwise, you'll hit a wall right there everytime. Again, this may be a Vegas specific thing, so it may not apply to you.
HTH,
Tim

Hi All:
Thanks all for the answers, they are exactly what I was looking for. Once again this board proves to be invaluable. The amount of knowledge here and the people who are willing to share are incredible.
Tim, to answer your last question I am using Final Cut Pro 3.
I am not at home right now so not sure if I have to disable device control or not yet, but will find out soon.
Thanks again.
