Photoshop Logo Conversion for the Web Help!! Can't Post

Hi all, I need help converting my company logo which was created in Photoshop 6.0 at 720X480 at 300 DPI resolution. I now need to have this logo converted into a web button at 100X100 pixels. When I resize my 720X480 to a 100X100 size it gets very Blocky and cannot be read. I've also tried to create a 100X100 file at various resolutions, even placing text in this small file size is blocky. I have no clue how to create anything for the web. HELP! What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in Advance!

100x100 is pretty coarse. Anything you make with this resolution is going to look blocky, unless it is very small. You may be able to smooth the edges a bit by applying Antialiasing or a small amount of Blur.
