Darn, I guess I'll go ahead and order that 17" MBP with glossy high-res screen this afternoon then.

PS What's the market (resale) value of a Core Duo (not Core 2 Duo) 15" MBP with 7200 rpm 100 gig drive, and 2 gigs of ram?

I would say $1,000 - $1,200.

But, how long ago did you pay that? Look at a Dell laptop from the same timeframe and see how much it's worth.

Possibly more depending on condition, but I'd say 2k only if there are extras.

Hmmm...has anyone ventured a look at the Apple refurb section? A 15" C2D 2.4 goes for $1649. Now, tell me why I would pay $2k for a CD that maxes out at 2gigs of ram?

Just sayin...

If you really want a quad-core notebook there are a few shipping now which appear to be based on desktop processors. For most current software, a fast Core 2 Duo system is a more sensible choice.

? Dude, how old is that thing? That's what we have and it's almost 3 years old... I'd say you're doing pretty good on resale value considering it's probably about out of even applecare warranty.. Sorry but I doubt a dell laptop that old sells for that much...
Unsure

Darn it must have been 3 years- time flies. Now I'm impatiently waiting my new 17" MBP, which is apparently now in a Fed Ex airplain in Shanghai China. Unsure Let's see if it gets here in the 2-3 days (which I paid extra for)!
