: I don't normally do that. Sometimes we use a lot of the second camera and sometimes we hardly use any. But, if the customer is unhappy and says can you reduce the price a bit, I would think about it. : When you start reducing the price and get critical about your work before the client sees it, you can shoot yourself in the foot. : I see lots of things that not only the client never sees but other pros don't see until I point them out. : : I had contracted with a bride to video their reception only. At the last minute she asked if we could video their ceremony without extending the agreed upon time. I agreed and only charged a small fee for a second camera. : : Unfortunately, the conditions weren't great--poor lighting, no room to move, and really bad back lighting with the second camera facing the groom. : : I did everything I could to make adjustments when editing, but the second camera shots just didn't come out that great, so I left most of them on the "cutting room floor". : : My question is should I not charge the additional fee for the second camera since I rarely used the footage or not? I would not reduce the price. For me at least, the 2nd camera is a "safety net" so when I make a move I have the 2nd cam footage if necessary to cover the move. If I think it will enhance the proceddings I may use some of it even if I didn't make a move BUT my contract states that the cameras are placed in accordance with the rules of the venues and officiant AND that the coverage is edited at the editors discrestion (me). I have done events when I haven't used the 2nd camera footage at all and others where I've used a lot because of the situation but I've never changed my price because of it. Don
