Question for PD150 users Can't Post

I recently picked up a PD150 for a wedding I'll be shooting in mid-June (previously using only VX2000's). I need to replace the stock mic with a quality shotgun (I'm looking at a K6/ME67 combo), but I'm not thrilled with the camera's mic mount - seems too flimsy to entrust with a $400 mic during 6 hrs of shooting(?) I'll be using the hot shoe for an on-camera light, so I'm not sure what my other options might be. I'd sure appreciate any sage advise from the PD150 users out there! Thanks!
Pat B.

I use the Sony ECM-672 Shotgun mic (450$$$) I love it. My boss and others I work with agree the Sony mic has a greater pickup of bass and handles loud situations much better than the me66 which we have done side by side comparisons.
I use a converted mic mount bought from Armatos.com 718 628 6800 which is a butterfly clamp and you can even rotate the mic to stand vertical. It cost 65 bucks... Sony makes a higher end mic clamp which B and H sells for 175 bucks... Very very nice... but pricey. those are the two options.

I love the Senn ME66/K6 for the 150 but remember it will still only do a good job when you're within a few feet of the subject.Microphones by their very nature and design can not pick up sweet sound and eliminate surrounding junk when more than a few feet away. I also use the Sony CAC12 mic holder as it brings the mic up by about an inch and allows me to adjust it to the side so theres little if any shadowing when I use my WA lens (almost all the time at wedding receptions) and an on cam light (a whole lot more than ever before)

Thanks for input, Don. So does the CAC12 replace the existing mount, or does it mount somewhere else?

Nope, 2 screws take off the old, same 2 screws put on the new. Use the old rubber wrap though the one I got with the CAC12 was really thick and I couldn't close the mount around the mic.
