For those in the new york/new jersey/ct/penn area feel free to join us at our second Rockland County Photo/Video association meeting this wednesday....this a new group that has just gotten together - so feel free to join us - we have some great programming on tap....

The location is an all you can eat Chinese buffet. It’s name used to be “new country buffet”
The fee is $11.00 this includes the $9.2? fee for an all you can eat lunch including many items not just Chinese food and a refillable soda or coffee AND tax. The remainder will go for a Tip to the waitresses.
Atalay Akat a sales associate from SONY will be demonstrating their latest camcorder, the high definition PMW-EX1. It utilizes flash memory cards, captures a full 1920x1080i picture at various frame rates (under and over cranking) and does not require the purchase of a deck! Capture the memory cards directly to your non-linear editing system. Here’s the brochure in PDF form. This is a “must see” demonstration!
Dennis Hopkins of Armatos will be demonstrating the Sony PMWEX1, HVRZ7U, HVRS270U, and various accessories. If you are interested in doing HD, this is the meeting to come to. We will be showing what these cameras can do. Don't miss out!
At the very first meeting, we had about 18 people. From 10am till 11am, we socialized and ate a light brunch. We convened the meeting at 11am starting with every person getting up and telling us who he/she is, what they do and what equipment they use. Soon after, Steve Warnack started his presentation showing what others out there are doing that is different to get us thinking about modifying and improving our style. The meeting ended at about 1pm though a few people stayed to chat further. We had limited parking on location, so I have changed the meeting location this time to provide more parking and a greater verity of food.
The purpose of this group is to bring together local video, photo, editing, internet, advertisement, artistic, people so that they can meet, get to know each other, hire each other when they need to with confidence. Possibly refer each other. Also, we are constantly effected by problems (software, hardware, equipment, or style) that perhaps others have solved.
We will try to have a constant flow of professionals coming in, showing us new equipment (Sony), new software (Adobe, Apple, and many others).
Remember, what goes around comes around, if we give help, we get help.
Please feel free to bring demos of your work to show ( 5 minutes or so).
There will be plenty of time to network with others there and hopefully decide on up coming agenda ( a rep from Adobe to show CS3, Apple computers reps. to show their line of products and a brief intro to the uses).
Please forgive the simplistic web page, but for now, it is only meant to give information about the
meetings.
DIRECTIONS:
The actual location is at the intersection of Rt. 59 and Rt. 45 ( Rt. 45 is also known as Main St. for Spring Valley NY.)
The restaurant is part of a large outside mall opposite end of an International super market. It is set back from the intersection.
If your using the New York State Throughway (287/87) take exit 14. Make a right at the end of the ramp’s traffic light. Proceed on Rt.59 in the WEST direction through several traffic lights. When you see “planet wings” on the left at a traffic light, you can make a left and immediate right to enter the shopping plaza and proceed to the other end of the parking lot. You can also proceed straight at the planet wings intersection and make a left soon after into the parking lot of the shopping plaza.
