READY TO KILL VEGAS! HELP WITH RENDER PLEASE! Can't Post

So I am trying to "Render As..." in Vegas. I have tried multiple times with multiple problems. Anyone know whats up?

I am rendering as a mpeg 2 (I think thats right for DVD). Using standard DVD NTSC. (again, what I think we used to do).

I watch it render, and all looks well, when I get to the end... and it shows the media offline. (i am even doing this with a 1 min clip and still does it) When I click back on the timeline the media offline goes away. When I look at the mpeg 2 it created it has audio, but a error in codec of the video.

I was doing test files no problem before. Anyone have an idea of what im doing wrong?

Thanks!

Two questions.

1. Have you tried closing out of Vegas and restarting?

2. Are the video files standard avi files that you captured or something else?

I just restarted the computer. Same issue. Standard AVI files are my source.

It still allows me to render as an AVI... can I just output as that instead of MPeg2? Can I create a DVD off that in architect?

Thanks.

Actually, looks like AVI is too big for DVD. What is wrong with my stupid thing.

=(

First of all, I would use one of the DVD Architect presets. These presets DO NOT include audio so you also need to render that out as AC3. Then you give DVD Architect both of those files when creating the DVD.

Vegas releases the files when it loses focus so they media WILL "go offline". When you return to Vegas, it reattaches to those files and the "media offline" message will go away which sounds like what's happening. If you wish to turn that feature off, it's in "options - preferences"
