Me either, but when Mossy told us this morn I got really excited for him and when I hadn't seen it posted yet I had to post it because I know there will be a lot of excited people.

It's been on their blog all day. Nobody stepped up and announced it on here. Perhaps the shift key on Julie's keyboard is broken so she couldn't make any capital letters. WinkWinkWink

So...I heard a rumor that this guy is the infamous Wacker.... If not please tell me now... And my apologies to Maurice if this information is incorrect. I will however, be sorely disappointed if Re:Frame is going to invite Wacker to speak. While I find that Blog humours in a South Park kinda way, I would hate to spend the amount that Re:Frame is charging to attend a Wacker Seminar... Unsure

That's funny, for sure I remember Mossy!

So, was it the people who paid $1500 to attend re:frame the sole people who voted to pay wacker to go to their seminar, all of the people on the "get in line to join" re:frame mailing, or pretty much anyone in general that could vote? Nothing against Mossy, and I hope he's getting an all-expense paid vacation for the vote (would be an expensive trip from Ireland), but it seems wierd. Then again, I don't hang out on the "other" forum, and am not really well-read in wacker blog. Wink

I'm hoping this is just an attention grab and that the real winner is either Patrick or Glen...

There's so many of these workshops/seminars/competitions that it begins to become comical. Videographers making money off other videographers instead of the usual clients. Now that's a pretty good gig.

And yet photographers will easily drop $850 for ONE lighting seminar! At least with the videography conventions, you get TONS of semiars for a great deal.

I for one think it is great that the Re:frame speakers will be paid for their efforts.

So what, Scott. Ask for a refund and don't go.

Bye the way, Mossy has posted at other venues, if you can take it seriously, quite extensively about what he will be presenting.

I too am curious as to why, after all the initial huge letter promos here, Julie has been suddenly so silent.

Mossy reads VU, but elected to not pay to be able to post.

I disagree. Wacker is one of the smartest satire blogs I've ever read. The one thing this industry needs is a good kick in the ass, no tip toeing around. Sometimes it takes a good parody for people to realize how ridiculous certain things are. I just hope its a true "wacker style " presentation. Then again, I'm not going, so it really doesn't matter to me. Crazy

Jordan, with all due respect, maybe you find it funny because you are not a videographer, you are an employee of a videographer. It's not your name or company that is being poked fun at.

Personally I could care less what Wacker or anyone else thinks about me. But there are people that take their name and reputation very seriously. Maybe if Wacker made fun of Dave Williams and it somehow caused his business to go down and he had to lay you off you might night find Wacker amusing.

As I said, nothing he has aid about me on the blog has bothered me, but you have to look at it from both sides of the fence. Some are not easily amused.

yeah, I can see where you're coming from. My online "image" doesn't make or break me. I've been hit a few times on wacker's blog- whatever.

I think it speaks to a larger problem of videographers being obsessed with what other videographers think of them. The endless threads on forums, comments on blogs- its like high school all over again.
