Recently, I went to pull the Raynox semi fish eye lens from the pouch, which I keep on my belt. There was a sickening crack and arm, which you depress to snap on to the camera, came away on my hand, with the spring dangling.
I managed to somehow hold it together, whilst I clipped the lens onto the camera. That was 31 January 2007 and I have been making do ever since. It then occurred to me that maybe a strap of some sorts, might guide the arm and hold it in place. I asked my wife, Sam. She suggested a dental technician. We found one, who works from home, not far from here.
I took it there last week. He said that it would be a pleasant change to work on something other than teeth. Instead of a strap, like I envisaged, he inserted a pin on each side. It works like a charm. The cost to me was R50, which amounts to US$6.34, which is less than the cost of one beer at the WEVA EXPO.
I'm happy!

I thought that I should share this, in case someone else has had the same problem.
