Sad but true...long Can't Post

Well this is definitely a new one for me.
walking backwards out of the church filming B/G leaving...anyway my $400 Armani sunglasses fall of my head and guest 'A' picks them up and gives them to the cordinator.About 5 minutes later guest 'B' who has whatched the whole thing walks up and claims them!!!. 15 minutes later I ask cordinator if some Armanis have been found and she explains about guest 'B' so we make a general announcement...well... Guest 'A' who found them comes up and confirms that they were definitely the glasses she picked up!.
So only one thing left to do....Myself and cordinator quitely walk up to guest 'B' and politely say "I think theres been a mistake and you have accidentially! picked up the videographers glasses"...well guest 'B' and girlfriend strongly deny this and claim the sunglasses they recieved were not Armanis EVEN THOUGH cordinator affirms that the glasses she gave guest 'B' were Armanis.
Nothing else I could do as guest 'B' holds all the cards at this stage...Photographer(friend of mine) has to take me out of the reception as by this stage MY punching hand is beginning to twitch uncontrollably.
Anyway couple of days later a envelope arrives at office from B/G,
inside is $$$cash and a note explaining that they had heard what had happened and were sure guest B(who was the partner of another guest) had taken them....money was to replace them.
The temptation to take guest B out the back was overwhelming!!but a desire not to see this impact on the B/G's day won out...groom was particularly impressed...don't know how they found out though.....its a funny old world sometimes;-)

Regards Paul(sorry about the long post)Holt

What the heck is anyone doing wearing a pair of sunglasses that cost $400??
Heck, the way I lose, break, and damage sunglasses I am hard pressed to spend more than $30 bucks on a pair.

Everybody has different tastes. $400 even thoug Australian $$ is way to much for me to pay for sunglasses, but again here it's not as sunny at Downunder, would not get much use out of them.
But I feel for you, knowing that some A$$ has them right there and then, I can see why you wanted to take him out back like you said.

Re: I want Paul for a client [In reply to] Can't Post

I would never question Paul as to WHY he would purchase a $400 pair of sunglasses.
Perhaps to him they are the most comfortable glasses he's ever worn, or the most attractive for his face, or perhaps a present from someone very fond of him.
OR perhaps Paul is the type of person that can easily afford
these glasses and if he wants them and it makes him happy,
he purchases them.
If that's the case then he is exactly the type of person I would want for my client.
There are probably at least 40 video companies in my city.
They all offer wedding video services, just like sunglasses offer shade.
Does one offer better shade than the other? Probably.
Same with video.
I want a client that not only wants a wedding video, but is willing to pay for the quality that I will provide to her.
She certainly can find someone "cheaper" than me, but she's not interested in "cheapest". She want's the company that is the talk of the town. Not the company that is "like" the talk of the town because she can afford the buzz company.
That's one of the luxuries of having money, don't you agree?
Those are the clients you should be marketing to.
I could drive a Ford Taurus, it's a good car probably,
but I chose to lease an I35 Infiniti, because I could and I wanted it. I absolutely love this car. It fits me to a tee.
Julian drives around in a Suzuki Grand Vitaro because he doesn't care lol he just needed a new vehicle.
So Paul I hope you go buy yourself another pair of Armani's
and take a picture so we can see how handsome you look :-)
Sorry to turn your post around,
I couldn't resist, I felt it is a good lesson.

Sure I agree, believe it or not I'm sitting in a $1600 office chair, called The leap chait made by www.Steelcase.com, now that is what is important for me because i sit in it 16 hours a day, and I don't want my back to be messed up to much, (it still will) but not like siting in a $75 chair from officemax like i used to have for years.
So Paul go get another pair, but do yourseld a favor, don't were them, at a place where if they fal;l out you can't grab them right away :) Once i lost a sony headset at a place and was very pissed off because that place is know for not giving things back if they find things, so we watch our stuff very carefully when we go to any place.

Re: I want Paul for a client [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey there Terry,
here in Queensland, Australia, the sun is a 'constant' in our lifestyle... we have the highest rate of skin cancer in the world!...In fact you can now deduct the cost of sunglasses on your tax return!. I.... like many Aussies...who have spent to much time in the sun suffer from a small growth on one of my corneas which is caused by to much sunlight...it will eventually completely obsecure it but for the time being good sunglasses retard the growth(don't worry though it will be removed;-).
Our market here is unique in that we service a group of islands called the "Whitsundays"....without going into detail it ain't exactly cheap to come here so most of our clients are reasonably cashed up...although those who have saved long and hard to come here always get extra special attention from me.Mayby one day you and Julian might come and see for yourself those American dollars sure convert nicely into aussie dollars;-)
Glad to hear about your TV program.. onward and upward Terry T!

Re: I want Paul for a client [In reply to] Can't Post

A lot of the $400 price tag is based on the fashionable name "Armani" and that folks will pay for that name.... not because they "provide better shade" or better eye protection....Yes, they are probably better than my $8.00 shades, but $302 worth?? Those must be some great shades! <grin>
Come on.
I agree, though....If you have the money to spend, and it makes you happy, hey...more power to ya. Its your own perogrative on hyow you spend your cash.
But price doesnt always mean anything.
$400 would make a nice software or hardware purchase, IMHO though...<grin>
Glad he got the money back...surprised that the B&G went out of their way like that...and that is reassuring...
