Still a bit confused on Audio (vx2k and xlr) Can't Post

Ok...So I'm leaning now toward the vx2000 camera. But I still have a few questions.
1. When purchasing a wireless mic, or wireless lav mic, do I have to get a non-xlr type version if I plan on just plugging directly into the camera?
2. The way I understand it, when plugging in any external mics, I lose the on camera mic?
3. If I want the on-camera mic to work, in conjunction with either a wireless lav, or wires mic, then I need an XLR adapter?
Thanks again for all the help!

1. The Sennheiser Evolution 100 comes with an XLR cable as well as a mini plug as do other wireless systems.
2. Yes, when you plug into the mic jack you lose the on camera mic.
3. You cannot use the on camera mic when you use one of the popular XLR adapter boxes, so that means you need to also buy an extra mic and after you make those two purchases the savings over the PD 150 is minimal.
If you will never need to use XLR jacks and you don't mind losing the on camera mic when you plug in your wireless then go for the VX2000.
It's great to have these choices because when I purchased my
VX 1000 in 1996 there wasn't a DVCam option with XLR's for $650 more.
